Goodbye 2010

Last New Year’s Eve, I was convinced that 2010 was going to be a stellar year for me both professionally and personally. I made rather realistic (at the time) plans for the year, but you know what they say about best laid plans. So, I’m really tempted to call 2010 the worst year of my life thus far. However, if I were to succumb to that temptation, I would be neglecting to honor the good that happened despite the pitfalls. So, in no particular order, here’s what I’m grateful for from 2010.

  1. Although unintentional, I got to stay home with my son
  2. My son is healthy and thriving
  3. Breastfeeding into toddlerhood
  4. Unemployment benefits
  5. Food, shelter and clothing
  6. Spending time with family
  7. Good friends
  8. The writings of the various bloggers I’ve been following
  9. The women who have shared their breastfeeding stories with me
  10. Patience, the process of forgiveness, and second chances
  11. Every single dessert I’ve eaten this year
  12. Bac-Out
  13. The Universe
  14. Life
  15. Love

  1. I want some of your dessert recipes. I also would like to try Bac-Out. So glad you started your breastfeeding blog 🙂

    • Luckily, most of the desserts I ate last year were made by folks other than me, lol.

I love Bac-Out. It’s great on cloth diapers and for getting certain “organic” stains out of the carpet. Handy when you have little ones.

  2. Great list and excellent message! I wish you all these and many more blessings in 2011!
